Tanning your face

If you’ve got fair skin or you’re a tanning virgin, you might want to start with a gradual tan (try St. Tropez Everyday Face), before you move onto a longer-lasting all-over self tan. It’s a good way to dip a toe in the water and experience the healthy-looking glow a tanned face will always give. But, whether you want a healthy hint of colour or an all-over bronze glow, your face needs special care from the start. Skin should be clean and free from dry patches prior to tanning. Self tan and gradual tan can stain pale hair so if you’re blonde or fair put a little extra moisturiser on eyebrows and the hairline before application. After application, simply wipe lips, hairline and eyebrows with a cotton bud to remove any excess.

Facial skin exfoliates naturally more regularly so your face will fade slightly quicker than the rest of you. That’s why we created our specialist facial tanners – they’re the perfect way to minimise fade and keep your tan topped up for longer.
