Optimistic Tan at Deryck Walker show
This season it’s not just women who are coveting a gentle glow that communicates a positive ‘feel good, look good’ vibe. The latest male grooming trend to hit the catwalks at the Paris Menswear Shows is a subtle, barely-there tan on healthy looking and supple skin – otherwise known as the ‘optimistic tan’.
Showcased at the Deryck Walker AW09 show, models sported an understated, light tan shown off to perfection on vibrant, healthy looking skin. And all thanks to the backstage expertise of St. Tropez celebrity skin care and tanning expert, Nichola Joss.
Nichola Joss explains; “During these uncertain times, accessible beauty regimes that help to put a spring into one's step are increasing demand both on the catwalk and street, and this is being reflected in male beauty trends. Collaborating with leading makeup artist, Kenny Campbell to create skin that glowed with positivity, gently tanned skin was touched up with cosmetic highlights and blush to define cheekbones and sculpt the face – creating a look that told the story of the confident, modern man who understands the importance of dressing for success.
Nichola created the look by first preparing the skin by fully exfoliating to improve skin texture, creating the perfect canvas for applying a fine layer of St. Tropez Tanning Mist – giving models a healthy, natural glow that complemented Walker’s Harris Tweed, Holland and Sherry Collection.
“From a light, healthy look created using a moisturiser with a touch of self tan, such as St. Tropez Everyday Face - to a glowing ‘just got back from holiday’ look using St. Tropez Self Tan Bronzing Spray, there is a perfect product for every stylish guy,” adds Nichola Joss.
